"So I just finished the first season of Girls. I think it’s well written and performed well enough for me to enjoy and continue watching. It’s a really fun show. I don’t see why people are so hype about it, though. I’d probably appreciate it more if I were a white vegan girl into like pastel colors and thrifting and problems that aren’t problems. I also think the title implies that the show would give you a look into the experience of various types of females. It’s really just different types of white girls, rather than girls in general. I don’t think there’s a wide enough perspective for women. I mean…in terms of the implication of the title. I really like it though. Just don’t see the big deal. I understand that Lena based the show on her own experiences, but calling it “Girls” and having people treat it as this feminist voice for the young “twenty-somethings” of today without any other colors or cultures is pretty silly."
